The G860 Media Gateway allow Avaya enterprise class solutions to have a smart trunking solution for businesses that need to support multiple T1s (DS3 and T3 applications). Add flexible T1 modules for T3 trunk interfaces that support up to 5000 voice channels. This gateway is especially applicable for business looking for large SIP trunking support for interoperability with other applications for carrier grade service. The S8700 media server (s8730) is the only Avaya Media Server capable of this call processing. The G860 has 3 media module slows + 1 dedicated slot for hot standby module. Supports DS-3, STM-1, OC-3, and IP (SIP only). This is referred to as the Avaya G860 Media Gateway and more specifically the G860 Trunk Gateway.
